‌What is Glitter?‌
Glitter, known as "金葱粉" (jīn cōng fěn) in Chinese, refers to small, reflective particles used to create shimmering visual effects. Composed of plastic, metal, or mineral substrates coated with colored layers, glitter has become a staple in arts, crafts, cosmetics, and fashion. Its ability to scatter light makes it a popular choice for adding sparkle to everything from holiday decorations to haute couture.

‌A Brief History‌
Glitter’s origins trace back to ancient civilizations. Egyptians used crushed beetle shells and minerals like malachite to adorn clothing, while pre-Columbian cultures in the Americas employed mica for ceremonial paints. Modern glitter, however, emerged in the 1930s when American machinist Henry Ruschman developed a method to mass-produce plastic-based glitter by cutting cellulose film into tiny pieces. By the 1950s, glitter became synonymous with glamour in cosmetics and entertainment.
